Put a number to the service

What does managed IT cost at 48 Technologies?

Calculate the base monthly fee by multiplying the agreed billable user count by $148. If that amount is below $1,480, the minimum monthly fee applies.

These figures are 48 Technologies’ package prices, not estimates of every provider’s pricing or your complete technology budget. Separately billed licenses, added services, projects, and any applicable taxes are outside the examples.

Billable users Monthly base service fee Base service fee over 12 months
10 or fewer $1,480 $17,760
15 $2,220 $26,640
25 $3,700 $44,400
50 $7,400 $88,800
75 $11,100 $133,200

The annual figures assume the same user count and base rate for all 12 months. Billing for user-count changes is governed by your agreement.

Example: a 25-user business

For 25 billable users, the base service fee is $3,700 per month. That covers the defined package, including up to two company-owned, supported computers per user.

It does not include Microsoft 365 subscriptions, separately quoted server services, or a planned migration. The onsite allowance is two labor hours for the client each month, not two hours for each of the 25 users.

Example: a business with fewer than 10 users

An eight-user business pays the $1,480 monthly minimum, rather than eight times $148. That is an effective base service cost of $185 per actual user in this example.

The minimum is a billing floor, not a promise that every shared computer, server, or additional device is included. Covered users and systems are identified in the agreement.

Clear scope. Clear expectations.

Beyond the base service fee

What belongs elsewhere in your budget?

Start with the base service fee, then account for the items your business actually needs. Separate recurring costs from one-time work so a migration or hardware purchase does not become confused with your ongoing support fee.

Recurring licenses and additional services

  • Microsoft 365 subscriptions: Budget for the subscription plans assigned to your users, separate from included administration and backup.
  • Network subscriptions: Budget separately for applicable network subscription licenses.
  • Servers: Management of physical and virtual servers is separately quoted.
  • Workstation and server backups: These are separately quoted around systems, storage, retention, and recovery requirements.
  • Shared and additional computers: Shared workstations and computers beyond the two-per-user allowance receive separate quotes, not automatic full-user charges.

Projects and equipment

  • Migrations and tenant changes: Migrations and major Microsoft 365 tenant changes are separate projects.
  • Remediation: Substantial work to correct an existing environment is separately quoted, including when identified during onboarding.
  • Hardware: Computers, replacement equipment, and network hardware are separate purchases.
  • Network projects: Cabling, major redesigns, and new installations are separately scoped and billed.

Support outside the included scope

  • After-hours emergencies: Separately billable and subject to availability; the package does not promise staffed 24/7 support.
  • Additional onsite labor: Separately billed with customer approval before exceeding the monthly allowance.
  • Broader advisory work: Major-project management and a broader fractional-CIO engagement are not included in routine vendor coordination or quarterly reviews.

These distinctions are part of comparing the offer, not fine print to discover after signing. Review the actual systems, services, and projects in your quote rather than treating the per-user rate as an all-inclusive technology budget.

How onsite support works

The package includes two onsite labor hours per client per month for routine support, scheduled by appointment during business hours. There is no additional travel charge within the Dallas–Fort Worth service area.

Unused hours expire monthly and do not roll over. Additional onsite labor requires approval and is separately billed; projects are not deducted from an allowance intended for routine support. There is no guaranteed same-day dispatch.

Compare the same scope

How to compare managed IT quotes

A useful comparison starts with the same users, systems, support hours, and responsibilities. Ask each provider to explain these points in writing before comparing the headline price:

  • Billing unit and minimum: Who counts as a billable user, and what minimum spend applies?
  • Device coverage: How many computers are covered per user, and how are shared devices and servers treated?
  • Support availability: What are staffed support hours, and what happens after hours?
  • Response commitments: Are response and resolution targets defined separately, and which issues do they cover?
  • Licensing: Which subscriptions and protection tools are included, and which are additional?
  • Backup scope: Which workloads are backed up, how long is data retained, and what restore assistance is included?
  • Onsite work: What labor allowance, travel charges, scheduling terms, and overage rates apply?
  • Onboarding and projects: What is ordinary onboarding, and which remediation or migration work receives a separate quote?
  • Agreement terms: What are the initial term, renewal process, nonrenewal deadline, and early-termination provisions?

Use the answers to compare like-for-like coverage, not just a per-user number. If you are also weighing an internal hire against outsourcing, the in-house versus managed IT cost comparison addresses that separate decision.

Before you decide

Pricing questions, answered

Is $148 a starting price or the package rate?

$148 per user per month is the rate for the defined package, with a 10-user minimum. Separately quoted services and licenses increase the total budget without changing what the base package includes.

Is the 10-user minimum a minimum business size?

It is a billing minimum. A business with fewer than 10 billable users still pays $1,480 per month, subject to confirming that its environment fits the service.

Is there an onboarding charge?

There is no separate fee for standard onboarding. Substantial remediation, migrations, and hardware replacements are separately quoted.

Are Microsoft 365 subscription and backup licenses both included?

No. Microsoft 365 subscription licenses are separately billed, while Microsoft 365 backup licensing for covered users is included. The agreement defines backup workloads, retention, and restore scope.

Does “no per-ticket charges” mean all IT work is included?

No. That applies to included business-hours remote support for covered users and supported systems. Projects, additional onsite labor, after-hours emergencies, and the other separately scoped items above remain outside that promise.

How long is the agreement?

The initial term is 12 months, followed by automatic renewal for additional 12-month terms. Written notice must be provided at least 60 days before the current term ends to prevent renewal; that is not an early-termination right.
